BHCA Board Member Encourages You to Vote!

Hartford Paint the City

BHCA Board member, Jason Farquharson, is one of 30 artists involved in the Hartford Decide$ initiative, LET’S VOTE FOR MURALS!   Hartford Paint the City received the most votes for the inaugural year (2015) of Hartford Decide$. Out of 100 submissions, 30 experienced artists were chosen to compete and create designs for the public to vote on. HPTC is a city-wide project placing one MURAL in each of the 14 residential neighborhoods in the City of Hartford. This project will add life, color, and support a positive form of self-expression through the visual arts. Some will reflect the cultural makeup of the neighborhood and celebrate local heroes from the past. Currently, the community will be voting on 10 murals. The remainder will be voted on in the spring of 2018. Neighborhood paint days will be announced which will allow the community to help paint the winning mural… All murals will be painted on city-owned property (Schools, Senior Centers, Rec Center, etc.).  NOW LET’S GO VOTE!!!
